How does it work?
To access this feature, compose a new message and select the filters you want to use.
When you use AND between filters, it targets a specific group that meets all the conditions you've set. For instance, if you select filters like Location: Los Angeles AND Age: 18+, your recipients will include Members 18 years or older who live in Los Angeles. So, your message is sent to those Members who satisfy both criteria. You'll notice any time you add an AND filter, your recipient count will either stay the same or decrease—it will never increase.
When you use OR between filters, it's like widening a net to include more people who meet any of the conditions you've set. For example, if you want to send a message to people who are coffee drinkers OR people who attend the farmers' market, using OR means you're including both groups. So, your message is sent to everyone who meets either of those conditions. You'll notice any time you add an OR filter, your recipient count will either stay the same or increase—it will never decrease.
If you are looking to target a recipient group that requires a combination of AND/OR logic, you now have the flexibility to do so. In the example below, the text is being sent to Members who are in the market to buy a home in Los Angeles, in addition to Members who are currently renting, have been pre-approved for a mortgage, and live in Los Angeles. There may be overlap in this particular example and if that is ever the case, any Members who match multiple filters will only receive the text one time. This way, you can reach a specific audience without having to compose and send multiple texts and potentially send redundant messages to certain individuals.
