What’s New – August 2025
We’ve introduced a new Draft status to help you work on your campaigns before they’re ready to send. You’ll now see Draft (New) as an option when saving campaigns that haven’t been scheduled or submitted.
Campaign Status shows the current state of your campaign throughout its lifecycle—whether it’s still being drafted, scheduled, actively sending, or completed. It gives you insight into what’s happening behind the scenes and what actions (if any) might be needed. Below is a breakdown of each status and what it means.
Where You’ll See Statuses
You’ll see the Campaign Status in both the Campaign List View and the Campaign Details Page, giving you at-a-glance visibility into the current state of each campaign. Statuses are automatically updated based on what’s happening behind the scenes—no manual updates required.
Campaign Status Definitions
| Status | What It Means |
| Draft | The campaign has been created but is not ready to send. It has not been scheduled, submitted for approval, or sent. |
| Needs Approval | The campaign is pending approval from an Admin or someone with "View and Send Message" permissions. |
| In Review | If your campaign includes a WhatsApp message template, it's being reviewed by Meta. |
| Sending | Community is currently processing and sending the campaign to our delivery partners. |
| Active | Your campaign has been handed off to our downstream delivery partners (carriers). Each carrier may take time to complete delivery. If the status shows Active but you have not yet received the message, it is most likely queued with a delivery partner and should arrive shortly.
The 6-hour reply window is now open. Any member responses during this period will be attributed to the campaign. |
| Scheduled | The campaign is scheduled to send at a future date/time. If it's recurring, we show the next instance. |
| Complete | The 6-hour reply window has ended. The campaign is done. |
| Failed | Something went wrong and the campaign wasn't able to send. |
Status Progression Example
Here's how a typical campaign might flow:
Draft → Scheduled → Sending → Active → Complete
If approval is required, the path could look like:
Draft → Needs Approval → Sending → Active → Complete
If your campaign includes WhatsApp content:
Draft → In Review → Scheduled → Sending → Active → Complete
Tips & Notes
- Status sort order: Campaigns sort by status progression, not alphabetically.
Current Limitations of Draft Campaigns
While Draft status allows you to save a campaign for later editing and sending, there are a few things to note in this release:
- Follow-up campaigns cannot be saved as drafts.
- Viewer role users cannot save drafts — they must submit campaigns directly for approval.
- Viewer role users also cannot edit campaigns created by others; they can only view them in the dashboard.
